Lighting design software WYSIWYG from CAST lighting can be used to connect a virtual lighting rig of accurate lantern models to a real lighting desk and allows a lighting designer to illuminate a CAD set model in a virtual world. The process produces a lighting programme in advance of an installation which can then be connected to the real lighting system saving hours of on site programming time. The lighting states produced in the virtual world can then be rendered to create photo realistic images for demonstration and presentation purposes, these images can be animated into a slide show or video of the lighting and set design and give a very accurate and beautifully clear picture of what can be achieved in the real world before a light is hung or a hammer swung ! |
