The new Cunard luxury cruise liner the Queen Victoria was launched in Southampton in December 2007. The ceremony was attended by HRH the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Performers included Sir Derek Jacobi, Katherine Jenkins, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Alfie Boe, Jon Cristoc and Gardern Thor Cortez.
The event was Produced by Robbie Williams Productions with set design by Stufish and was staged in a large temporary structure on the quayside with TV direction by Aubrey Powell and musical direction by Anthony Inglis.
The lighting was programmed by Paul Cook and Tim Routledge, Associate LD was Nick Jones and the equipment was supplied by Neg Earth and PRG Europe. The large format video projection was supplied by E/T/C UK and sound design was by Derek Zieba.
